After the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) changed its selection criteria for personal interviews by replacing its academic ratings system with a fixed minimum score of 70 per cent in both the board (10 th and 12 th standard) exams. Other IIM’S are following it.

If a candidate has a CAT or GMAT score and a Bachelor’s degree, He/She can apply for the Postgraduate Programs in Management. In some PG programs,one can also apply if you are appearing for the final slot of the qualifying exam or awaiting for result. Some PGPs, including those which offer specialization in a specific field of work such as Public Management and Policy and Agribusiness Management, takes into account the work experience of an applicant in the same field. As you apply for a Postgraduate Program in Management, your academic record, scholastic achievements and performance in the relevant field of work is often counted upon during the selection procedure.

The candidates for admission to the Program shall be selected through
applicant's performance in the CAT (COMMON ADMISSION TEST) to be
conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Commencing from October
27, 2010 to November 24, 2010 at various test centers in India.

Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates). Those completing bachelor’s degree requirements by 30th June 2010. Can also apply for (provisional admission).

However, they need to submit proof of passing the under graduation degree with stipulated percentage of marks by July 16, 2011.s

Step 1:

Generate Bank Challan -

Enter all the required information.

Candidate's name has to be filled in exactly same as it appears on your high school or Xth board/CAT admit card.

Use the bank challan to deposit the required application amount at any branch of State Bank of India.

The fees is to be paid for General and OBC Category is Rs.900 and for SC and ST is Rs.600.

Step 2:

Fill Registration Form -

On university website enter your registration number and click GO.

Enter Email ID (your login information will be sent there) (except Rediffmail).

Fill in the rest of the details including Journal Number.

Upload your photograph.

Submit your form.

On the confirmation page, click on the link to print the registration form

Send a copy of the form you have printed enclosing the following:

Bank Challan (University Copy)
Copy of CAT Admit card

Caste Certificate

Subcategory certificate

Merit Category :

Regular Admission is granted to those applicants who fulfills all the admission requirements and whose name appears in the regular merit list of successful applicants.

Corporate sponsored and NRI/ NRI sponsored :

Upto 15% Seats are allotted on following conditions:

1. Candidates are straightaway called for GD/PI.They may also appear without taking part in the CAT exam.
2. It is a separate merit, based on GD and Interview, and Graduation score.
3. A fee as per schedule will be deposited in advance (annually) .

4. In the case of corporate sponsored candidate, the sponsoring company must have an annual turnover of minimum Rs. 50 crore.
5. Campus placement assistance is not provided to corporate sponsored candidates.

Following documents are required at the time of interview for company sponsored category candidate:

1. Latest Financial statements (Published balance sheet and Income statement) are to be submitted at the time of GD/PI.
2. A sponsorship letter is required from Company as per Annexure-1.
3. Original marks sheet for 10th Std. exam, 10+2 exam, Graduation exam (with min. 50% marks) and related degree, certificates for date of birth and work experience (if any).

In case of NRI/NRI sponsored, sponsoring person must have a minimum annual Salary or Income of 50,000 USD or equivalent. Following documents are required at the time of interview:

1. Passport copy plus evidence of NRI status e.g. work permit/Employment Pass/Permanent Residence, Notary attested in the country of residence of NRI or by the foreign embassy in India.
2. A sponsorship letter from NRI as per Annexure -2.
3. Original marks sheet for 10th Std. exam, 10+2 exam, graduation exam (with minimum 50% marks) and related degree, certificates for date of birth, and work experience (if any).

Submission of Form:

Last date for submission of form for all programmes: December 31, 2010

Call for Group Discussion and Personal Interview: last week of January 2011 (tentative)

Venue and Time Schedule for GD & PI: From 15 to 23 Feb. 2011 (tentative)

For all programmes:

GD/ PI would be conducted at Ahemdabad, Bangalore, Bhuvneshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Pune, and Greater Noida in the month of February 2011 (tentative). The Institute has the right to cancel any of the above outstation centres.

Declaration of Final Selection List:

Final Selection List would be declared around March 8, 2011 (tentative)

Fee Submission:

Time of fifteen days would be given to the selected candidates from the day of declaration of final selection list to submit first installment.

Beginning of session:

Academic session of all the programmes starts around June 1 (tentative) every year.
